Before you start drawing, proofread the text one more time.
Do not glue or cut any of the text
or illustration pages.
If your layout has text on (for example) page 2 and an illustration on page 3, then what
you draw on page 3 will be what the words say on page 2.
Sketch your drawing with a light hand - if you press too hard, it is impossible to erase
unwanted lines.
Think large and plan for a full-page, full-color illustration - keep white space to a
minimum.
You may want to remember this helpful suggestion - draw all illustrations first and then
do your coloring once they are all complete - not only does this keep your illustrations
more consistent in style and look, it also helps you get all illustrations done by the
deadline because the drawing can be harder than the coloring.
Keep your illustrations in your folder and take out only the one on which you are working.
Take care in placing your work back inside your folder so that the edges do not get bent
in the fold of the folder.
Keep your work out of the hands of younger brothers and sisters.
REMEMBER - You should take care in
planning, sketching, and coloring your work. Be as creative and
detailed in your illustrations as you can. Make sure your
illustrations bring to life the corresponding text. |
