Our Classroom Rules |
Rules for Success:
Do what is right.
Do your very best.
Treat others as you want to be treated.
|
Our Classroom Rewards |
1. If the clothespin stays on GREEN all day, the student will receive a reward stamp on their hand and in their Daily Behavior Calendar. (Parents will need to initial the Daily Behavior Calendar nightly to let me know that you have reinforced the behavior or consequence at home).
2. If the clothespin stays on GREEN all week, the student will pick something out of the TREASURE BOX and the CANDY BOX on Friday.
3. If the clothespin is moved to YELLOW during the week, the student will pick something out of the CANDY BOX only.
4. The class will receive marbles whenever they are following the rules, demonstrating our character education virtues, and behaving. When the MARBLE JAR is full, we earn an EXTRA RECESS.
|
Our Classroom Consequences |
1. After a couple of warnings, if the student's behavior does not improve or change, they will move their clothespin from GREEN to YELLOW. They will stand by the wall during recess for 5 minutes and jog one lap to the fence and back. While they are on the wall, they are not allowed to talk to other children. They will discuss the incident with the teacher during this time.
2. If the student's behavior does not improve or change, they will move their clothespin from YELLOW to RED. They will stand by the wall during recess for 10 minutes and jog two laps.
3. If the student's behavior does not improve or change, they will move their clothespin from RED to PURPLE. They will stand by the wall for all of recess and jog three laps.
4. Once a student's clothespin is moved to PURPLE, they will either call his/her parents to discuss the incident and/or write a note, which will need to be signed and dated by the parents and returned to school the following day. Depending on the incident, our principal may be involved.
*Each student will have a Daily Behavior Calendar in their Homework Folder. At the end of the day, I will record each student's behavior. If they receive a STAMP, that means they had a GREAT day and didn't move their clothespin. If they moved their pin to YELLOW, I will write "Y" and the incident. If they moved their pin to RED, I will write "R" and the incidents. If they moved their pin to PURPLE, I will write "P" and the incidents. A note may also be sent home in their Homework Folder that will need to be signed and dated by the parents. It is very important that parents discuss their child's behavior and reinforce/follow through with consequences at home.
